Jonas studied ceramics in La Cambre where he got his master degree.
Moënne says: “My work is marked by stories and folklore.” He uses ceramics as a pretext to question the status of the earth. His sculptures give indeed an image to his stories, and these stories support his objects. His practice is part of the deviation of time, in the construction of layers that did not exist before his intervention. His folkloric landscape is crossed by different cultural influences nourishing his research. The rural world is for him a matrix of fictions providing a reservoir of plastic ideas that he willingly qualifies as “inexhaustible”.
