Johan Van Geert - Peggy Wauters

Johan Van Geert studied at the Academy for Fine Arts in Aalst, graduated at the Royal Academy in Antwerp and finished his studies at the Higher Institute for Fine Arts (HISK) also in Antwerp.
Initially he worked exclusively with clay, attracted by the versatility of this raw material and the pureness of working with "soil". Depending on what the work expresses, he occasionally uses other, mainly recycled, materials, such as wood, glass, metal. However porcelain is his most important material because of the purity of this matter and the bright colors it generates.
Fascinated by the constantly experienced duality in our great world, he "imagines" his reveries about power and impotence, earthly and spiritual existence, the question of our role in all this....
Johan’s work is internationally shown, selected and awarded in Europe.
