Amber Roucourt lives in Brussels, but has her studio in Leuven. She studied painting and ceramics at PXL MAD, School Of Arts in Hasselt. Her sculptural objects consist mainly of ceramics in combination with other materials. Amber investigates the specific properties that a shape needs to generate a movement. Her work consists of large and small movable ceramic objects. They don't work automatically but thanks to their shape they can be activated by a twist, push, swing… Inspired by her personal collection of found objects she explores the limits of the fragility of the medium in a performative and playful way.
The sculptures and objects present themselves in installations in which they can be exchanged. The combinations among themselves are endless. The works together form a large game without much demarcation.
