Tine Deweerdt

Little by little, Tine makes her objects leave the archetypal form of ceramics, the bowl. They evolve into sculptures where material and form are central.

The clay is fully used and accentuated; the rough shape refers to the earth, to clay from the Flemish polders. Various types of clay and porcelain are combined.

The result is timeless and can refer to the past, the present and nature. The works are robust yet fragile. One could be hurt by it, even though the object itself is equally vulnerable.
